Yum-Yum Bento Box Lucky Bag Giveaway

by Pikko on January 29, 2011

Happy Belated New Year to all our bento fans! We hope that the first month of 2011 has been a great one for all of you and that you’ve all been having fun with our cookbook!

We have some great news for you all. Maki, Quirk Books, and myself have all pitched in to offer a great giveaway in the spirit of the new year.

New Year's Lucky Bag

Three lucky winners from our giveaway will receive a Yum-Yum Bento Box Fukubukuro or “Lucky Bag”. In Japan, the fukubukuro is a sealed bag containing items of value greater than the bag it’s packaged in. Together, we’ve assembled a great lucky bag containing some great items for making your own cute bentos with our recipes!

The prizes will be in a cute bento bag and will come with a copy of Yum-Yum Bento Box. However, these are not just regular copies of the book.

Autographed Yum-Yum Bento Box

That’s right! These books are autographed by both Pikko and Maki, the only three copies in the world signed by both authors! Even if you already own a copy, wouldn’t you love to receive the bag and the signed copy? It’s easy to enter.

Four Ways to Enter

  1. Comment on this post and tell us what subject you think makes the cutest bento. Is it a white kitty? Smiling piggies? A little boy?
  2. ‘Like’ Yum-Yum Bento Box on Facebook and leave a comment on the giveaway post.
  3. Follow Yum-Yum Bento Box on Twitter and tweet the following: “Win a bento lucky bag and an autographed copy of Yum-Yum Bento Box from @yumyumbento!! http://tinyurl.com/6dnkfdm” Post the link to your tweet here!
  4. ‘Like’ Quirk Books’ Facebook page Home Sweet Home and leave a comment on the giveaway post there as well!

Entries that do not follow the instructions above will not be counted. Maximum of four entries per person. Only one prize may be won per person. Deadline to enter is Friday, February 4, 2011. Three winners will be drawn after closing and prizes will need to be claimed within 48 hours or the prize will be forfeit and a new winner drawn.

Bento Lucky Bag

Don’t miss out on your chance, enter to win now! If you’d like to purchase the book as a gift, the book is available on Amazon.

I think piggies would make a really cute Bento.

Jenise Tim January 31, 2011 at 8:32 pm

I think that kittys and the colors of the foods make the cutest bento!

monica January 31, 2011 at 8:34 pm

Love Hello Kitty so as my 2year old daughter. Love to get the book. I have 2kids who need my hand made lunch everyday!!!

Tony January 31, 2011 at 8:53 pm

I like bentos that puts a smile on someone’s face. Lately it’s been superheroes for my nephew and princesses for my niece.

Rexy January 31, 2011 at 9:08 pm

I think Keroppi makes a great, if not one of the greatest, subjects in a bento. Because he’s my favorite Sanrio character and doesn’t get as much love as Hello Kitty does.

Feather January 31, 2011 at 9:11 pm

Chicks and cartoon characters are my favorite, but anything with a smile will make my day :)

eling January 31, 2011 at 9:21 pm

My favorites are definitely sheep + octopi!

Michelle January 31, 2011 at 9:59 pm

I think the most attractive thing to me isn’t the subject, it’s a bento with LOTS of bright colors. (And a cute smile somewhere helps too!)

Loree January 31, 2011 at 10:07 pm

I think anything with a smiling face, along with a nice “rainbow” of offerings makes a cute bento :) I also love seeing the cute Hello Kitty bentos (I can’t make them cute!)

stacy January 31, 2011 at 10:21 pm

small cuts of fruits and veggies and hearts are sooo cute <3

Jaimie January 31, 2011 at 11:34 pm

I think Hello Kitty and her lil teddy bear would make a great bento! Or Hello Kitty dressed as a teddy bear. No, no I know! Hello Kitty dressed as Chococat!

Pipaw February 1, 2011 at 1:54 am

Bees are my favorite to make a cute bento! But I love all smiling pets as well!

Ivonne February 1, 2011 at 3:13 am

No doubt: white kitties!
I love kitties and when I saw a smiling kitty in my bento also a cloudy day becomes sunny!

tatabonita February 1, 2011 at 3:20 am

I always love to make bentos with smiley girl character :D . It’s always be my pleasure to see a happy girl in my bento box, the happy girl will always make me happy too :D

Uniflame February 1, 2011 at 3:49 am

I think animals make for a cute bento, or anime critters. Basically anything animal goes! :)

Uniflame February 1, 2011 at 3:56 am

I don;t know how to link to a tweet but:

I just love frog bento, but I basically love most animals (lol, like Uniflame!) but the best is making food look like (other) food.

Huzzah, liked quirk books too. Now, I wanted to buy that book, but I guess I’ll wait a bit if I have a shot at an autographed one =’)

Flowers make the cutest bentos.

jessi February 1, 2011 at 6:28 am

my little boy loves the baby bear inarizushi!! :) we’re going to make them together tonight! thank you so much for having a giveaway!

Tonje February 1, 2011 at 7:12 am

I think I’d have to go with elephants, but it is a tough choice! I really like animal bentos though!

Alhana February 1, 2011 at 7:30 am

I like animal shaped boiled eggs, like kitty or piggy eggs. They are the cutest! Also smiling faces are cute. Difficult to choose only one, so I’d say my favourite subject for a bento is smiling animals. ^v^

Janice February 1, 2011 at 7:57 am

I make bentos for my six yr old everyday.. Anything with a smile, hearts or flowers always brighten up her day.. but the cutest has to be food disguised as animals/characters which take more effort than just cheese cutouts..

Shenanigans February 1, 2011 at 9:30 am

Anything “baby” makes a super cute bento – piggies, kitties, puppies, chicks. And Helly Kitty of course!

Trysha February 1, 2011 at 9:58 am

My boys and I came across the Ninja Panda vs. Kung Fu Panda at Happy Little Bento and they thought it was the best bento ever!

Zoe B. February 1, 2011 at 10:08 am

I think simple bento are the cutest, with cute little surprises and little splashes of color. (: tres bien!

Elizabeth H. February 1, 2011 at 10:49 am

I think an incredibly cute bento theme is a train themed bento! Second would be a flower blossom themed bento, with little cherry or rose petals.

Andrew S. February 1, 2011 at 10:55 am

I love the pig burgers, so a pig themed bento would be super cute.

Elizabeth H. February 1, 2011 at 10:56 am
ladysaotome February 1, 2011 at 10:59 am

I think chicks and bunnies (especially the kinds made from eggs) make the cutest bentos!

McKath February 1, 2011 at 11:19 am

Currently, I’m mostly a hearts and flowers kind of bento gal (which is why I’d already ordered your book). :-)

ADoseOfmee February 1, 2011 at 12:15 pm

I love bentos with animals–either shaped by rice/cheese/meat, etc.

Apyon February 1, 2011 at 1:14 pm

I’d say seals would be cute.

Bree February 1, 2011 at 2:09 pm

My favorite theme for bentos are bunnies and hello kitty.

Amy/grrlTravels February 1, 2011 at 2:12 pm

I like sea creatures, but any box where the theme is carried through impresses me.
