Hi Maki and Pikko:

I have a blog called The Lunch Tray (www.thelunchtray.com) which is devoted to kids and food, in school and out. On today's post (called "Lunch Tray Friday Buffet," which will be up shortly if it's not already there when you read this) I give a little shout-out to Yum Yum Bento after having come across your beautiful book in at the Elliott Bay Bookstore while on vacation in Seattle.

My mention of the book today is almost tongue-in-cheek, since most parents I know are so time-strapped in the morning that it's a challenge for us to make a peanut butter sandwich, let alone one of your beautiful creations. But then I started thinking more about what you do for your children's lunches and realized I have a lot of questions I'd like to ask you -- things like the cultural underpinnings of making this sort of lunch, how your kids respond to them, etc.

If you're interested, I was wondering if I could do a little email "interview" with one or both you and then post it on the site? It would likely create interest in your site/book and I think my readers would find it interesting, too.

Let me know if that's of interest to you.

Regards,

Bettina
